Then go back to the Windows explorer screen and see if the SallyFaceGameSave_0.save file has a more recent "File Modified" date on it.

So once you exit from the initial game screen, then exit completely from the Sally Face game. And if you completely exit from the game, then because the save game file was not updated to show you left the first game room, the "Continue" menu option is not available at all to you and you must select "New game" once again. If you don't do ALL the things listed in the spoiler above to go to the next game screen, then if you go to the game's MAIN menu, and select "Continue" from that menu (the "Continue" option WILL appear for you until you completely exit from the game, I think you said), then you will have to repeat all actions taken previously because the save game file had not been updated yet. Once you wind up in the next game screen (the room with the several doors including the bricked up doorway that you see where Sal winds up), then the save game file is updated automatically by the game. That means you must turn on the light in that room, and push the chest of drawers to the wall, then pick up the key, and with the key in your inventory, you'll be able to open the door and leave the initial game screen.
SALLY FACE GAME WIKI UPDATE
In the first game screen when you start up the game, you must exit that room before the game will update your progress. Please note that the save game file generally does not update until you move your character Sal from one game screen to another. Then start up the Sally Face game and play enough of it to leave that initial game room. So, I suggest that you look at the Date Modified date shown on your Windows Explorer screen for this file and make a note of it. On my computer, if I delete the file SallyFaceGameSave_0.save and then try to play the game, my prior progress in the game is not remembered, and I no longer get the "Continue" option when I try to start up the game. You should see a folder there called Unity, and a file called SallyFaceGameSave_0.save This location is the same for Windows users, and is located here:Ĭ:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Steve Gabry\Sally Face Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of the save game file that the game creates on your computer. You can test out my theory by doing the following: I believe the reason that the "Continue" option disappears from your Sally Face game menu is because the save game file that "remembers" your progress in the game when you start to play the game again after having exited completely from it, is either not written at all as you play or somehow is either corrupted or disappears from its location when you completely exit from the game. So disabling Steam Cloud saves is highly recommended if you want to follow my discussion. So your experience may be slightly different than mine, especially if you are using the Steam Cloud to save your game progress. I'm just a gamer who purchased Sally Face on another game store, and I've also purchased the Season Pass for the game rather than Ep 1 alone. Also from the game all achievements are lost The inscription "continue" disappears, and there is only a "new game".
